How to set up IPTV on a Smart TV

Method 1

Samsung and LG don’t allow installing apps from outside their stores, so you use a player from the store and link your login to it through the player’s website. Players such as Set IPTV and Smart IPTV work the same way.

Login:

Your TV’s MAC address + device key

Best for:

Samsung Tizen and LG webOS TVs

   Install the player

   On Samsung, press Home and open Apps. On LG, open the LG Content Store (or Apps). Search for IBO Player and install it.

   Note your MAC address and device key

   Open the app. It shows a MAC address and a device key on screen. Take a photo of this screen with your phone.

   Send them to us (or add your playlist yourself)

   Send the photo to us on WhatsApp and we’ll link your login to the app for you. If you’d rather do it yourself, go to the player’s website, choose Manage playlist, enter your MAC address and device key, and add the M3U link we sent you.

   Restart the app

   Close the app fully and open it again. Choose your playlist, then wait a minute or two while the channels and TV guide load for the first time.

Method 2

Xtream Codes (username, password, server URL)

Best for:

Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and other Android/Google TV sets

   Open the Play Store

   Press Home on your remote and open Apps › Google Play Store (on Google TV, use Search on the home screen).

   Install TiviMate

   Search for TiviMate IPTV Player and choose Install.

   Add your login

   Open TiviMate, choose Add playlist › Xtream Codes, and enter the server URL, username and password we sent you. Select Next.

   Pick your channel groups

   Keep the channel groups you want, hide the rest, and select Done. The TV guide loads automatically.

Troubleshooting

• I can’t find the app in my TV’s store

  Store listings vary by model, region and year. Try Set IPTV or Smart IPTV instead, or plug in a Fire Stick and follow our Fire Stick guide.

• The playlist won’t load on Samsung or LG

  Check the MAC address you entered online matches the one on screen exactly (0 and O are easy to mix up), then restart the app.

• The picture freezes or stutters

  Smart TV Wi-Fi is often weaker than a phone’s. Use an Ethernet cable if you can, and turn off any “motion smoothing” picture settings.
