How to set up IPTV on Apple TV

These steps work on the Apple TV HD and every Apple TV 4K.

What you need

Both work with the same login. If you’re not sure, start with the first one.

Method 1

Free · Recommended

A free, straightforward player with live TV, films, series and a TV guide.

Open the App Store
On your Apple TV, open the App Store and search for Smarters Player Lite. Choose Get.

Choose the login type
Open the app and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.

Enter your details
Enter your username, password and server URL. When the keyboard appears, your iPhone will offer to type for you: tap the notification and paste the details from WhatsApp.

Start watching
Wait a moment while channels load, then choose Live TV, Movies or Series.

Method 2

Paid · One-off

A paid Apple TV player with a clean, fast TV guide that feels like traditional TV.

Install iPlayTV
Search for iPlayTV in the Apple TV App Store and buy it (a small one-off price paid to the developer).

Add your playlist
Open the app, choose to add a playlist, and enter the M3U link or Xtream details we sent you.

Load the TV guide
The TV guide usually loads automatically. If not, add the EPG link we included with your login.

The iPhone keyboard prompt doesn’t appear
Make sure your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi and signed in to the same Apple Account, or open Control Centre on the iPhone and tap the Apple TV Remote.
Some channels buffer
Use Ethernet if your Apple TV model has a port, and restart it from Settings › System › Restart.

Does IPTV work on older Apple TVs?

The Apple TV HD and all Apple TV 4K models work. Older models (3rd generation and earlier) can’t install apps, so use a Fire Stick instead.

Is there a monthly fee for the player?

Smarters Player Lite is free. Some other players charge a small one-off price to their developer. Your channels come from your GoLiveOnTV plan.
